Aloni Cohen is a sixth-year PhD student at MIT CSAIL, where he is advised by Shafi Goldwasser.

He is a recipient of the 2018 Facebook Fellowship, and is affiliated with the Berkman Klein Center and Georgetown University.

Aloni researches the interplay between theoretical cryptography, privacy, and law. His most recent article, forthcoming in the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology, explores the Fifth Amendment and compelled decryption in criminal investigations.

Aloni is presently studying provable privacy through mathematical formalizations inspired by privacy legislation. He is also interested in privacy attacks and algorithmic fairness.
