Announcing the 2019 Assembly Cohort

Announcing the 2019 Assembly Cohort

Assembly cohort

We are thrilled to announce the 2019 cohort for the Assembly program at the Berkman Klein Center and MIT Media Lab. The program, which will start its third iteration on March 11th, 2019, gathers a small cohort of technologists, managers, policymakers, and other professionals to confront emerging problems at the intersection of technology and policy. Assembly is part of our Ethics and Governance of Artificial Intelligence Initiative, and this year’s cohort will tackle the ethics and governance of artificial intelligence.

Assembly encourages interdisciplinary learning, collaboration across sectors, and the conversion of ideas into tools and actionable policies. The program begins with two weeks of team-building, intensive ideation, and learning. This is followed by twelve weeks of collaborative development, when the teams build projects. The cohort is supported by our staff and an expert advisory board.

Our 2019 cohort is made up of seventeen participants, with experience in the private sector, academia, civil society, and government. You can learn more about them on Assembly’s website. We look forward to learning and creating with them.
