Rebekah Heacock Jones
Rebekah Heacock Jones is a Senior Project Manager at the Berkman Klein Center, where she works on Internet Monitor, the Digital Public Library of America planning initiative, the OpenNet Initiative, and a number of other projects. She has been involved with the Center since 2007 in various capacities, including two summers interning for the OpenNet Initiative and contributing to a variety of Berkman Klein projects as a research assistant.
Rebekah previously co-directed the Technology for Transparency Network, which documents and maps projects that use online technology to promote transparency and accountability in the public and private sectors. The network is part of the Global Voices Online community, where from 2007-2012 she helped cover the Ugandan blogosphere.
Rebekah has lived and worked in Uganda, where she co-developed and directed a series of conferences on post-conflict development for American and East African college students, and in Kansas, where she was a web producer for the Lawrence Journal-World. She has a Master's degree in International Affairs from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor's degree in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Kansas.
