Dr. Faith Majekolagbe is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in Canada. Her research interest is in the areas of intellectual property and technology law. Faith’s scholarship focuses on the effects of international copyright law and policy on access to knowledge, technological innovation, human development, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
She was a 2022/2023 Fellow at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. As a Fellow, Dr. Majekolagbe contributed to the research of the Berkman Klein Center in the area of copyright and public interest especially the development of legal mechanisms in international copyright law to facilitate equitable access to education and research.
Dr. Majekolagbe has advised national governments on a range of matters related to intellectual property and development. In 2023, she served as the Technical Expert for the Delegation of Nigeria to the 43rd Session of the WIPO Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights.
Dr. Majekolagbe is a member of the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property, Global Expert Network on Copyright User Rights, Academic Network on the Right to Research in International Copyright, Open African Innovation Research Network, and Intellectual Property and Innovation Researchers of Asia.
