Casey is a designer and software engineer interested in how design thinking, systems thinking, and social physics can be applied to design systems of human interaction in order to address complex social issues, with an emphasis on climate change. Currently, Casey is an affiliate with the Berkman Klein Center researching how average citizens understand, discuss, and engage with the climate crisis with the goal of facilitating dialogue across communities and empowering political engagement for climate legislation. Previously, Casey worked as a healthcare software designer where she researched physician engagement with electronic health records (EHRs), explored using EHRs to reduce the impact of climate change on health and advocated for decarbonization of healthcare IT. She is also a climate advocate with Citizens’ Climate Lobby and a Captain in the Army Reserves. In her free time, Casey enjoys painting, rock climbing, and spending as much time as possible in the mountains.
