Challenges Forum Workshop on AI and Ethics, November 2018

In November 2018, 10 organizations attended the closed-door Workshop on AI and Ethics at the Berkman Klein Center, jointly hosted with the MIT Media Lab and Princeton’s Center for Human Values and Center for Information Technology Policy.

This workshop was part of Berkman Klein’s Challenges Forum, a series of workshops and collaborations aimed at creating spaces where organizations ranging from multinational corporations, to small startups, to nonprofit entities can explore with interdisciplinary experts drawn from our community some of the thorny ethical challenges encountered while developing, deploying, and using AI technologies. Following the workshop, we are now working with some of those participating organizations to create public case studies and educational resources that can be used to help engineers, policymakers, students, and others to navigate similar situations.
