Wired for Change remix contest!

On February 16, 2011, an all-star collection of social innovators, technologists, entrepreneurs and philanthropists gathered at the Ford Foundation to take on the greatest challenge of our time: How can we work together to bring digital democracy to all?

The inspiring list of speakers and panelists, outlined here, included Zipcar founder Robin Chase, This American Life host Ira Glass, former President Bill Clinton, and Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the world wide web. [Here is the Berkman Center's recap, Harnessing technology for social good.]

The event was only the beginning of an important and continuing conversation -- and we'd like you to join in.

The Project of Digital Ethnography at Kansas State University and the Berkman Center at Harvard invite you to create a short remix video with material from the Ford Foundation's Wired for Change event that shows what you think about digital culture and Internet rights. Enter your video — and get a chance to win a free trip to the next Wired for Change conference!

Here’s how: Create a short video featuring clips from the Ford Foundation's Wired for Change event that that shows what you think about digital culture and Internet rights. You can start by making yourself familiar with the conference’s content. Then pick an issue — or a few! — to focus on in your video. Some questions to help you get started: Do these conversations from the conference make you excited? Angry? Inspired? Do you think it's important to be wired for change?

We're looking for a creative, educational and entertaining video remix that communicates a clear message to a wide audience. Your submissions will be reviewed by a panel of distinguished judges. The creator of the best video will be given an all expense trip and free admission to next year's Wired for Change conference.

The video is to be no shorter than 30 seconds and should not exceed 2 minutes in duration. All submissions are due June 1st. Winners will be announced in July.
