Here, for Open Economy readers, is a message just in from our friend and
Open Economy community member Mark Davies. This is the formal invitation to
the opening next week of the BusyInternet
incubator/cybercenter/extraordinary place that Mark and friends have created
in the Accra, Ghana--and hope to replicate in other parts of Africa. I have
been to Ghana to visit this project--and consider it very worthy of your
interest! Regards, Jim Moore

Dear Jim:

BusyInternet International, Fidelity Investments, Databank and SOFT have
great honour in inviting you to the official launch of BusyInternet Ghana
Limited, Africa's most exciting and largest Technology Development Centre.

Started over 2 years ago, BusyInternet is an ambitious program to launch
state-of-the art centers across Africa, providing not only the physical
facilities and services for rapid IT growth and development, but also the
social environment necessary to innovate and develop.

The Accra center is over 1500 square meters of training/conference
facilities, office space, internet access halls and other digital services.
Often referred to as an "Incubator", BusyInternet has chosen Accra as its
first center in Africa, with plans to expand rapidly next year into Nigeria,
Tunis, Cote D'Ivoire among other countries. An important arrival on the
international IT development scene, BusyInternet hopes to showcase Ghana as
a pioneer in developing the IT sector and services, and a healthy
environment for both local and foreign investments in the new global
economy.

Coinciding with the BusyInternet launch, the center will host the first-ever
ITAfrica Fair. This 2-day festival will showcase over 50 Ghanaian IT
companies and organizations that provide services and highlight the unique
prospect Ghana offers for local and global investors and customers.

Mr. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, Minister of Information and Presidential Affairs,
Hon. Owusu-Adjapong, Minister of Communications and Technology, and the
United States Ambassador to Ghana, Nancy Powell, will be the guests of
honour at the official launch of BusyInternet

We will be honoured if you will join us celebrate the birth of this new
initiative in Ghana and across the Continent.
