[h2o-discuss] Open Discussion

I just read the comments regarding the ebb and flow of
the H2o discussion over the summer. I think it's very
useful to hear a variety of viewpoints from those
individuals who are outside the legal scholarly field
on the multifaceted issue such as digital intellectual
property, and privacy.

It is my understanding that the internet is
continually developing and evolving at a fairly fast
speed that individuals from a myriad of field of
knowledge would invariably have something to offer in
a discussion. I would have enjoyed intermittent
comments from those people who are trained legal
scholars on particular issues. On the other hand, I
don't think that an on-line discussion should limited
itself where only some can offer insights while others
whose insights are somehow deemed not useful enough. A
so-called community discussion usually includes people
from all professions, n'est-ce pas?

I'm a composer, digital audio engineering graduate
student, and a partner in an educational website. For
what it's worth, I think a combination of expressed
interests from the legal side of the Berkman fellows
along with John Wilbanks, and people from other
professions are far more thought provoking than a
black-and-white picture. Of course I write as a plain
folk who happened to have enjoyed the H2o discussion
over the summer.
