Rethink Music

The Berkman Center works in collaboration with Berklee College of Music on a variety of initiatives under the Rethink Music banner, examining the law, policy, and business structures that inform the creation and dissemination of music. The Center contributed to the Rethink Music conference presented by Berklee in Boston in April 2011, managing a Call for Papers with Harvard Law School's Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law and preparing and editing the "Rethinking Music" briefing book distributed to conference participants. Berkman and Berklee plan to continue their collaboration with a series of smaller workshops and publications through the end of 2011 and into 2012, convening stakeholders from across the spectrum in the music and creative industries to address the vexing business and legal concerns facing creators, distributors, and consumers of music.
