Hsiao-ya Chung

Hsiao Ya Chung has been a prosecutor for nine years in Taiwan, major realm in computer and IP crime. During her practical processes of criminal investigation, she deeply realized the gaps lie between counties. When agents trace the IP address registered abroad, they almost have to give up the clue for the server won’t respond to their requests for log files. Due to the particular status of Taiwan, 24/7 Computer Crime Network is the only international institution that Taiwan enrolls in. However, the agents of Criminal Investigation Bureau of Taiwan or The investigation Bureau, both responsible for nationwide serious crimes, always encounter obstacles when proposing inquiries but receive no responses. She intends to figure it out and explore more opportunities for cross-nation cooperation.

Her main research will focus on:
(1) The international cooperation on cybercrime investigation
(2)The technological tragedies and government regulations on decryption for communication interception over internet
