New case studies from the Internet & Democracy project

The Berkman Center is pleased to announce that the Internet & Democracy project, in association with the Research Center for Information Law at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, has added a new set of case studies to its series of critical investigations into the Internet's impact on democracy and democratic processes: "Three Case Studies from Switzerland: Smartvote, Electronic Voting, and Political Communication."

Citizen Media Law Project and Cyberlaw Clinic Lead Amicus Effort Promoting Rights of Anonymous Online Speakers in IL

In a case involving important First Amendment rights, the Citizen Media Law Project joined a number of media and advocacy organizations in asking an Illinois appellate court to protect the rights of anonymous speakers online by imposing procedural safeguards before requiring that their identities be disclosed.
