PitcairnIsland

A tiny island in the [[South Pacific]], one of the most remote sites of human habitation on the planet.  Its fascinating history begins with the famous mutiny on the [[H.M.S. Bounty]]; the original Pitcairners were roughneck sailors and their Tahitian "wives."  An English-Polynesian creole, as well as [[EnglishLanguage]], are spoken there.  A protectorate of the [[UnitedKingdom]] --but politically unique.  Population (1991) around 60.
