In general it is important to know for all of us that international issues of the 21st century need to be dealt with by different economic powers. We can see today's world economy made of 4 powers. They are Banking/security sectors, Private enterprises, NGOs, and the global citizens.
However, international development programs are struggling to complete their missions in many regions. As we have seen a number of presentations of NGOs, international organizations such as the UN at the WSIS Geneva 2003, our need for faster and more effective international approaches is urgent. Slower development means greater the risk of starvation, malnutrition, corruption, and even political/military conflicts in poor nations.
While most NGOs are undertaking financial pressure all the time, an increasing number of the third world citizens has begun to doubt to developmental effort by global enterprises as well as global NGOs. I spoke with a man from Africa. He said 'We think that some of international organizations are corrupt. They may come to your county and start developmental projects with funds. But they soon take all the money and go back to their home country.'
If this is true, it is disaster. Poor nations cannot trust people with funding that is given by those people who think of third world development seriously. Meanwhile, a less fund will become available for the entire developmental projects including good programs because of distrust amongst fundraisers.
Therefore, I am proposing Oceania-Asia networks.
For example,
I pick below issues to deal with.
Citizens: They are not sure.
> If their paid funds are used practically and effectively
> Which banking sectors are investing money to what activities
> What kinds of issues are talked in the world
Private enterprises: They are not sure.
> How to communicate with global citizens to explain that their global business operation has a good cause.
> How it becomes possible to corporate with NGOs to tackle environmental/human rights issues together while strengthening global business operations.
NGOs: They are not sure.
> If they could continue their activities with sufficient funding for long term projects
> How to communicate with other world development organizations to take role for common projects together
> How to convince global citizens to give them funding
Banking sectors: They are not sure.
> What is a best way to chose companies/NGOs to invest money when world financial sectors need to consider SRI(Socially Responsible Investment)
> If their approach for sustainable development is well informed to and trusted by public customers.
> How to get right and fair information on corporate business/NGOs activities.
About Oceania-Asia Networks
All these issues can be solved by having a fair and transparent broadcasting TV/broadband internet Media company. The media company should have such features,
1. This is a new type of broadcasting global media company that has little revenue from traditional commercial sponsorship.
2. This is practically first news, social affairs and environmental/human rights program from the Asia region to the world audience.
3. This media company helps link global audience to multi-national corporations and NGO projects by watching their social and economic activities in the third world.
4. This media company can offer alternative broader views to the world affairs.
5. This company gives the general audience the chance to participate in world development by sending information on aired programs on the web.
6. This media company tries to maximize public influence over business matters, political matters.
7. This media company can also help multi-national companies to give positive public image to the audience by broadcasting their activities to the world with fair professional journalistic approaches.
8. This media company can offer valuable information based on the data collected from the audience to banking/security sectors that becomes of help for their SRI decisions.
9. This media company believes that the third world development can be accelerated only by holding global citizens' participation. The more transparent information becomes, the greater the chance for solid developmental approaches will come for the third world people.
P.S, These are some thoughts on business.
See our business in natural flowers.
Beautifully, they repeat the sounding joy.
I don't see destruction in time of fall.
I see the beauty of ending, prospect of the future and even the energy to the next coming. It is not about the justice to destroy in order to create a new.
I walk through the winter silence to pray and give thanks to them for their bearings, fruits and work.
When spring time comes, I shall see new life that is to become hope of the future.
In summer I prepare for the harvest as the Sun shines the brightest moment. The earth gets the wonder to grow words beneath. There is no sacrifice to take after all.
I will thus seize the moment. Each momentum comes with distinctive meanings. I am also glad that all are connected with each other. There is no time to be wasted, there is no bad that could have ever grown in between.
Seek our business with such moral.
There is no gap in between our time and their time anymore.
There is no separation of lives though we still repeat to distinguish ourselves.
There is no single continent that can stand all alone, though the oceans could have divided us before.
So we repeat the sounding joy.
We all are beautiful and pervasive.
Then we shall not leave a room to the generations to come
The room for only two choices either for destruction or for sacrifice
