· Chilling Effects - The Chilling Effects project provides an online clearinghouse for analysis and response to cease-and-desist notices sent to Internet users. · Freedom to Connect - The goal is to reframe telecommunications policy in terms that relate to citizens, end users, innovators, and small companies rather than large monopoly-heritage telephone companies, cable companies, and companies that depend on networks to deliver their product. · Global Voices - Global Voices is an international effort to diversify the conversation taking place online by involving speakers from around the world, and developing tools, institutions and relationships to help make these voices heard. Founded earlier this year by Berkman fellows Ethan Zuckerman and Rebecca MacKinnon, Global Voices has emerged as the world's most influential online guide to blogs and other forms of citizens' media that are emerging outside the United States and Western Europe. · Public Radio Exchange (PRX) - The Public Radio Exchange (PRX.org) is a nonprofit web-based marketplace for distribution, review, and licensing of radio content. PRX brings new voices to the airwaves, creates new revenue streams for producers, and helps stations assemble diverse and exceptional programming. · Science Commons - Science Commons, a new division of Creative Commons, will work to keep bio-medical and other scientific data and research - the lifeblood of science - moving more freely and openly. Students will work on creating a technology trust or patent pool of IP relevant to orphan diseases, crafting tech licensing agreements for research institutes that better reflect the public interest, preserving the public domain status of databases, and working with existing open source software projects and Semantic Web standards to preserve access to scientific data and scientific journal articles. · Creative Commons - The brainchild of Lawrence Lessig (Stanford), James Boyle (Duke), Eric Eldred (Eldred v. Ashcroft 123 S. Ct 769 U.S., 2003), Hal Abelson (MIT), and Eric Saltzman (Berkman Center) in an effort to resist expansion of copyright and enable the widest possible sharing and use of creative works on the Internet, Creative Commons was founded at the Berkman Center while Lawrence Lessig was on the faculty of Harvard Law School.
