Lewis Hyde

Lewis Hyde's interests center on the public life of the imagination. He is currently at work on a book about "cultural commons," that vast, unowned store of ideas, inventions, and art that we have inherited from the past.

Karim R. Lakhani

Karim R. Lakhani is a Berkman Center faculty associate and an Assistant Professor in the Technology and Operations Management Unit at Harvard Business School. His research focuses on distributed innovation and the movement of innovative activity to the edges of organizations and communities. He has done extensive research on open source communities and their mechanisms for innovation.

Colin M. Maclay is the Managing Director of the Berkman Center, where he is privileged to work in diverse capacities with its faculty, staff, fellows and extended community to realize its ambitious goals.

John Palfrey

Head of School at Phillips Academy, Andover
Director, Berkman Center for Internet & Society

As Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, John’s work focuses on Internet law, intellectual property, and the potential of new technologies to strengthen democracies locally and around the world. As Vice Dean for Library and Information Resources, he directs the Harvard Law School Library and co-chairs the school's IT committee.

Doc Searls

Doc Searls served as a Berkman Fellow from 2006 to 2010, during which he launched and led ProjectVRM, which encourages the development of new tools by which individuals create and control their relationships with companies and other organizations. (VRM stands for Vendor Relationship Management, a term coined as a counterpart to CRM, for Customer Relationship Management.)
