What Next?

Thank you for completing the online assessment for your community. We hope that you found the process straightforward, and that the results are useful in understanding some of the challenges your community faces as we move into the Information Age.

It is important to note, however, that your community's results are merely an approximation of its Readiness, subject to available information and interpretation. Involving diverse parties in your assessment and holding qualitative and quantitative discussions are essential, and will yield results that are both rich and complementary to the online assessment.

Each of the 19 categories has a different significance in each community. Highlighted topics that affect development in general but were not included as indicators are of the utmost importance, and cannot be overlooked. So while we do provide you with a mean stage result, it is only an indication of general Readiness and should not be used to compare your community with others.

As we have mentioned, the higher stages above where your community places itself in a given category may or may not be a good indicator of what its next steps should be. They may indicate the direction to move in, but the community may find a more efficient means to get there.

Technology is always changing. Even when a community reaches Stage 4, more progress will be needed to allow everyone to participate in the Networked World. MORE INFORMATION
