Rebekah Heacock is a Project Manager at the Berkman Center, where she works on Internet Monitor, the Digital Public Library of America planning initiative, the OpenNet Initiative, and a number of other projects. She has been involved with the Center since 2007 in various capacities, including two summers interning for the OpenNet Initiative and contributing to a variety of Berkman projects as a research assistant.
Rebekah is also involved with Global Voices Online, where she helps cover the Ugandan blogosphere and previously co-directed the Technology for Transparency Network.
Rebekah has lived and worked in Uganda, where she co-developed and directed a series of conferences on post-conflict development for American and African college students, and in Kansas, where she was a web producer for the Lawrence Journal-World. She has a Master's degree in International Affairs from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor's degree in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Kansas.
