Alicia Solow-Niederman joined the Berkman community in September 2011, beginning work as a research assistant for Professor Jonathan Zittrain and transitioning to her current position as project coordinator in January 2012. As project coordinator, Alicia works closely with the Internet and Democracy team and also contributes to the freedom of expression portfolio.

Alicia received her B.A. degree with Distinction in Communication and Political Science from Stanford University in June 2011. At Stanford, she pursued research on issues pertaining to accountability in journalism, assessment of political campaigns, and the use of Internet technology in revolutionary movements. Alicia has also worked with the Center for American Progress as well as on the reelection campaign and in the office of U.S. Senator Michael Bennet. In her free time, she enjoys indulging her addictions to running, Ashtanga yoga, crossword puzzles, and coffee.
