Filtering Expert to Meet with Berkman Community

Richard Clayton recently presented "Failures in a Hybrid Content Blocking System" at the PET2005 workshop in Croatia, and will speak to the Berkman community tomorrow about the technical challenges to accurate filtering. Filtering has been an issue of great interest to the Berkman community, several members of which are involved with the university-based OpenNet Initiative. The OpenNet Initiative documents the degree and extent to which governments "filter," meaning how they control and manipulate the information environment in which their citizens live, including websites, blogs, email, and online discussion forums.

Clayton's talk is part of the Berkman Luncheon Series, and will take place Tuesday, June 7, at 12:30pm in the Berkman conference room. If you'd like to attend tomorrow's event, please rsvp by emailing rsvp@cyber.harvard.edu. And please return to the Berkman homepage tomorrow to get the details on Clayton's talk.
