Opportunity

The Berkman Center is hiring an IT Support Assistant II. This is mainly a support position, and will involve a lot of helping people with applications on the internet and on their local computers. However, it is far from being strictly a support position. The IT Support Assistant II will be an integral part of a team of two or three on-site geeks, and the position is intended to provide room for growth. The person we hire will be excited about technology and the ways in which its uses intersect with larger societal issues, and will be encouraged to participate in Berkman Center events, where a geek's point of view is important in helping to frame and inform these issues. Responsibilities will be assigned primarily according to departmental needs, but also in large part according to the candidate's aptitudes and likes, meaning that this position could lead to gaining significant skills in, for instance, programming or system administration. It also provides a great opportunity to meet movers and shakers in the Internet Law world, and to gain some knowledge in that field.
