Testing Internet Filtering Worldwide: The Saudi & Chinese Approaches

Today Jonathan Zittrain and John Palfrey will present research done through the Open Net Initiative on Internet filtering in Saudi Arabia and China as part of the East Asian Legal Studies Lunchtime Speaker Series. HLS’s Berkman Center, the Munk Centre for International Studies’ Citizen Lab, the University of Toronto, and the Advanced Network Research Group at the Centre for Security in International Security at Cambridge University founded the Open Net Initiative to study the public unavailability of information and sites online. Most recently ONI released two reports documenting Internet filtering in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The lunchtime talk is in Pound Hall, room 419 and the talk is slated to start at 12:30. Bring your lunch at noon and meet the guest speakers and others in EALS. Have any questions? Just call (617) 495-3142.
