White House Credentials Its First Blogger

Marking a major turning point for bloggers, Harvard alumnus Garrett Graff ’03 this week became the first blogger to be granted a daily pass to the White House press briefing. He gained access as editor of the blog FishbowlDC, which reports on media affairs in Washington, D.C. The 23-year-old had blogged about his many attempts to acquire the press pass, including 30 phone calls made over a week. His cyber missives then caught the eye of national media, which finally resulted in the pass, according to the New York Times (registration required). After attending the much-hyped briefing, Graff had “mixed impressions,” reports today’s Harvard Crimson.
