Archived Biography: After abandoning his childhood acting career (which culminated in his series regular role of "Weasel" on NBC-TV's "Saved By the Bell: The New Class"), Isaac studied Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at Harvard College, where he graduated with honors in June of 1999. In July of '99, Isaac founded Poindexter Systems with his brother-in-law, Joe Zawadzki, and good friend, Ted Shergalis. Poindexter is a thriving internet advertising optimization technology company located in Manhattan.
After two grueling years at Poindexter and a successful venture funding, Isaac left the company in June of 2001. A long-time Filter reader and Berkman Center admirer, Isaac attended BCIS's ILAW 2001 conference in July of 2001 where he solidified his interest in cyberlaw and the Berkman Center. When Isaac returned to Cambridge to begin his studies at HLS as a 1L that fall, he got involved with several Berkman Center projects. One of these projects evolved into the Berkman Center's WORLD WIDE CONTENT initiative, which Isaac currently serves as "CEO," a role for which he was named a Berkman Student Fellow.
Isaac spent the summer of 2002 working for Professor Jonathan Zittrain. In this capacity, he prepared several modules for the Berkman Center's ILAW 2003 conference and worked extensively on Professor Zittrain's upcoming casebook. Isaac also served as a teaching fellow for Professors Nesson and Zittrain's Counsel to an Internet Client seminar in the fall of 2001 and for Professor Zittrain's Spring 2002 and Winter 2003 Internet & Society classes.
When he is not busy with Berkman Center work, Isaac is busy with Harvard Law Review work and the Ames Moot Court Competition. He also dedicates much of his time to work for the Foundation Fighting Blindness, a national organization that funds research and raises awareness of retinal degenerative diseases. Afflicted with one such disease (retinitis pigmentosa), Isaac has enjoyed the privilege of testifying before several congressional committees on the Foundation's behalf and sharing his story with CBS-TV's "60 Minutes."
Isaac lives ~1.5 blocks from the Berkman Center with his absolutely beautiful, brilliant fiancee, Dorothy Johnston (Harvard College '02).
