Haochen Sun

Haochen Sun was a Berkman Center Fellow in 2006-2007 working on the Noank Digital Media Exchange project. His research interests primarily lie in the areas of intellectual property, property, and legal theory. He is particularly interested in the jurisprudential approach to think about the relationship between intellectual property and human rights. His recent research focuses on the issues ranging from the legitimacy of the three-step test, copyright and digital divide, patent protection and public health, to copyright reform in China. His recent articles have appeared in Northwestern Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property, Journal of the Copyright Society of the USA, International Review of Industrial Property and Copyright Law, European Journal of International Law, and so on.

Haochen worked in the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property as a Research Fellow in 2005. He obtained an LL.B. from Zhejiang University in 2003, and an LL.M. from National University of Singapore in 2005, where he was a Research Scholar and a recipient of President’s Graduate Fellowship. He graduated from the LL.M. Program at Harvard Law School in 2006.

In his spare time, Haochen enjoys poetry writing, alternative music, and art films. He is now planning to publish his first collection of love poems.
