Cedar Pruitt

Archived biography: Cedar Pruitt worked for the Berkman Center from 2000-2001 as a reporter for The Filter. In addition to researching issues in cyberlaw, Cedar worked as a multimedia developer and designed several websites for the Berkman Center, most notably for Chilling Effects, which was rated a "Hot Site" by USA Today in 2001. Her work for The Filter includes an interview with ICANN at-large member Karl Auerbach, and an article on the first ILAW conference. She also reported on the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and interviewed Richard Smith of the Privacy Foundation.

Cedar holds a Master's degree in Technology in Education from Harvard University and a Bachelor's degree in Critical Social Theory and Media Studies from Hampshire College. In the past, she directed all online admissions efforts for the John F. Kennedy School of Government while a leading web developer there, and has also served as company webmaster for a futures trading firm in Chicago, IL. Her humor writing has most recently been published in McSweeney's and Identity Theory, and she is currently writing a children's book. She lives in Watertown, MA.
