Search opened for new Berkman Center Executive Director

The Berkman Center has been tremendously successful in building its institutional capacity and, in support of its mission to serve the public good, pursuing its ambitious research agenda.

In his role as Executive Director, John Palfrey has been a key architect of this success, overseeing our evolution into Berkman "2.0," a powerful, innovative research platform and human network that, in this academic year, celebrated its tenth anniversary in anticipation of an even greater second decade. John’s extraordinary leadership and intellectual contributions have been duly recognized: he has been selected to push these successes further in a new role as Vice Dean for Library and Information Resources at Harvard Law School. John will remain a Berkman Faculty Co-Director. We’re immeasurably grateful for the energy and care that John has brought to Berkman’s growth as a leader, teacher, and researcher, and we’re overjoyed that he will remain a part of the Center’s leadership.

We’re now seeking a dynamic new Executive Director to join our incredible team and play a vital role in building on Berkman’s past, helping to guide us into Berkman "3.0."
