Zittrain and Seltzer Weigh In On Filesharing Lawsuits - New York Times
September 09, 2003
In today's
New York Times article regarding yesterday's announcement of 261 lawsuits filed by the
RIAA against individual file-sharers,
Professor Jonathan Zittrain discusses the choice to target sharers, those who offer their files for others to download, as opposed to targeting those who then download those files, calling it "hitting the networks in their Achilles' heel." Berkman Fellow
Wendy Seltzer of the
Electronic Frontier Foundation is also quoted in the article, saying that the recording industry should treat file-sharers as customers, not criminals.
