Jackie Harlow

Jackie Harlow was a student fellow with the Digital Media Project at the Berkman Center while a third year student at Harvard Law School. Her primary work explored the tension created by copyright laws that restrict access to digital media, and the essentiality of digital media to modern teaching and scholarship. Laws designed to prevent digital piracy reach into the classroom and restrict educational uses of digital media. Consequently, the existing legal regime may not meet the needs of today’s educators.

Jackie also contributed to the Center’s Jamaica Project through its Clinical Program. She worked with Professor Nesson and other students to improve conditions in Jamaican prisons by documenting the concerns of inmates and prison officials, and creating a new inmate orientation video.

In addition to her activities at the Center, Jackie was co-editor-in-chief of the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology, and a student representative on the Student Journals, Activities and Services Committee at the law school.
