Let A Thousand Discussions Bloom

by derek_bambauer at 4/14/2004 4:27 pm

With the kickoff of iLaw 2004 and the release of the initial module on peer-to-peer copying, participants have begun to grapple with the tensions and issues raised by Napster and its successor cases in the discussion forum.

Seth Finkelstein points out that Napster's founders were hardly naive about the exchange of copyrighted material on their service; indeed, access to "free" music was central to its popularity.  Seth notes that Judge Patel quoted some rather damaging documents in her ruling in the Napster case.

We look forward to working through some of the budding issues in the P2P space!
