Scholarship Application

A limited number of scholarships are available for participants from developing countries. The goal of these scholarships is to enable leaders in the governmental, academic, non-profit, and entrepreneurial sectors of developing countries to attend and to enrich the program through their participation. To find out if your country qualifies as a developing country, please visit http://www.oecd.org/countrylist/0,2578,en_2649_37413_25602317_119656_1_1_37413,00.html.

The scholarships cover:

  • program tuition
  • 3 nights accommodations from Thursday, May 13 to Sunday, May 16
  • round-trip airfare
In awarding the scholarships, we will take into account applicants' backgrounds in Internet technology and/or law, decision-making responsibilities, and demonstrations of financial need. Each recipient will be expected to:
  • participate fully in the online instruction from April 14 to May 5
  • participate in the classroom component from May 13 to May 15
  • prepare a two-page report one month after the program evaluating the program and assessing its relevance to his or her work
  • lead a one-hour discussion group (either individually or in collaboration with other scholarship recipients) on some aspect of Internet technology or law at a designated time during the program
Applications are due no later than noon on April 1, 2004. Decisions will be made and applicants will be notified (via email) by April 5, 2004. Airline travel will be arranged through the Internet Law Program and tickets will be sent to recipients by express mail.

Note: Past iLaw scholarship recipients are not eligible.
