trademarks (Open Comment, 7/15/00 4:02:46 PM, #872)

I dont understand why icann accepting complaints for general terms like traditions.com,zero.com,president.com,or crew.com .
The fact that J.crew won Icann case is unforgotten,it is exactly the same as other generic terms out there .. it seems like icann is motivated by large businesses and does not really help the ordinery person online ,I`d like to know why icann arbitrators have so many conflicted solutions for similar cases ?

Thanks .
Sal

Reverse Hijacking (At Large Membership, 7/15/00 11:36:05 AM, #855)

Why is it that ICANN makes no provisions for those of us that are reverse-hijacking victims? We have to just sit and live in fear and wait to be sent a notice ... which frequently never comes because the trademark owner knows they are wrong and this is wrong and clearly biased against my constitutional rights. I pay for my websites the same as anyone else and should have equal treatment.

Is there anything being considered to offset this inequity ?

Karl's comments (New TLDs, 7/15/00 10:00:35 AM, #842)

I must concur with Karl Auerbach's concerns. The concerns expressed by the general public are baseless.

Vin Cerf's comments are well spoken. However, there can be a natural and organic segregation by affinity group among diparate TLDs.

I agree with Robert Keating (Open Comment, 7/15/00 8:57:14 AM, #835)

He wrote:

"At yesterday's meeting, Christopher Ambler of Image Online Design asked a very valid and pertinent question--a question that I for one want answered. Yet the chairman and the NC felt that it was important to overtly and arrogantly snub Mr. Ambler, and to ignore his question.

Mr. Ambler's question deserves being answered, and Ambler himself deserves the respect of recognition from ICANN and the NC.

Kindly repair this egregious error by acknowledging both the man and his question.

The credibility of ICANN, the DNSO, the system and these proceedings were grossly and unnecessarily damaged yesterday."

An Unanswered Question from Yesterday (Roll Call, 7/15/00 8:34:34 AM, #831)

At yesterday's meeting, Christopher Ambler of Image Online Design asked a very valid and pertinent question--a question that I for one want answered. Yet the chairman and the NC felt that it was important to overtly and arrogantly snub Mr. Ambler, and to ignore his question.
