Send Us Your Comments With the launch of the new GNRE project web site, we welcome any feedback about the site and project as well as additional resource submissions for possible inclusion in our Resources Toolkit. Please send information to globalsurvey@cyber.law.harvard.edu Data Collection Completed: Over 5000 Observations in 11 countries As November drew to a close, the Global Networked Readiness for Education project team had already entered over 5000 unique observations from Brazil, Costa Rica, El Salvador, The Gambia, India, Jordan, Mexico, Panama, Philippines, Uganda and South Africa. Totals included exceeded 3700 students, 1000 teachers, and 120 each headmasters and computer lab professionals. The survey is the first of its kind in the developing world, asking about the experiences of students, teachers, and administrators with information and communication technologies (ICT) and education. Inquiring not only about technologies and access, the survey probes use and attitudes, beginning to examine impact. The process of cleaning and preparing data for interpretation is well underway, and as this complex and time consuming process concludes in mid-December, the next and perhaps most exciting part of the project begins in earnest. |
