Digital Media Production

Berkman's Digital Media Team is expanding! The Digital Media Team produces creative, fun, and dynamic video and audio content on all of the exciting projects and activities of the Berkman Center. Content is streamed live and posted online, syndicated as podcasts and embedded on blogs, shown at events, and seen by Center affiliates and viewers worldwide. Berkman Digital Media is looking for applicants for 2 areas on its Team for the Fall 2008 term.

#1: SHARPSHOOTER AND WEBCASTER

Sharpshooters and Webcasters will be responsible for two main areas:

•Managing the webcast for our lunch series using our State-of-the-Art webcasting setup. This will involve being present on Tuesday afternoons and flexible for other predetermined times during the semester to work on lunch events. The webcaster will stream and record the events using our webcam rig and computerized switcher, and post the full video on our internet library.

•Working "Behind-the-Scenes" on special events or special video or audio projects. This will involve running camera, lights, and/or sound during special Berkman conferences, and also helping to create unique one-off projects, such as podcasts, event trailers, animations, or educational videos.

Preference will be given to applicants who can guarantee availability on Tuesdays from 12pm to 4pm throughout the fall. The time commitment will vary depending on the amount of production work, but will usually run 4-8 hours a week, so applicants should give a sense of specific hours during the week they will have open. Most work will happen onsite at the Berkman Center and around the Harvard campus.
