When to Blow the Whistle? A discussion on the role of whistleblowers in society

Hosted by the Allston Ed Portal, Charlie Nesson, and the Berkman Center for Internet & Society

November 20, 2013, 7:00pm ET
Harvard Allston Education Portal
175 North Harvard Street, Boston, MA 02134

The Ed Portal and the Berkman Center for Internet and Society will host an evening of small-group discussions led by Professor Charles Nesson of Harvard Law School, founder and director of the Berkman Center.

With a focus on building community and thoughtful discussion, we will explore the unfolding debate around transparency, secrecy, leaks, and morality.

Allston resident and Harvard-Allston Task Force member Brent Whelan wrote:

Though it continues the series of Harvard faculty events at the Ed Portal, this evening will be a first step in creating something new: Allston X at the Ed Portal. Rather than one-way presentation of information or knowledge, as in classic lectures or the new Ed X on-line course model, Allston X hopes to create a face-to-face interactive discussion-based model that would off-set the top-down model of information flow. In this way Wednesday's event should be an exciting prototype for future efforts to deepen and improve the on-line educational model.

Come to the event to engage in small-group discussions about the pertinent questions raised by the disclosures of Edward Snowden.
