This place is a fictional securities exchange that operates using Linden Currency. The purpose of this exhcange is to provide virtual companies with the ability to raise capital using the linden currency. The WSE is a fully automated trading platform which operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The traders have access to real-time and historical trading data. The client administrative system provides the Secondlife companies with the ability to post regular anouncements and updates on key financial data to the shareholders and also provides a way to distribute dividends.

The Listing Rules and requirements are unique to Hope Capital management. The basic rules are that the business must generate all income from a fictional currency. The CEO must provide WSE with a valid email address for their WSE account and also must have a WIC exchange account from www.wicexchange.com. They listing company is required to have been a resident for a minimum of 60 days and are also required to have Secondlife payment information on file. The most unusual and restricting requirement is that all of the people listing their securities must have an advanced knowledge of the English language. I am presuming that since WSE is still in operation in Secondlife that not that many people have a problem with this rule or they have not bothered to voice their opinion as of yet.
Access to Capital Aside from buying and selling stocks individuals can also buy IPOs. The business that is presenting the IPO must follow certain guidelines. All of the capital that is received during the initial offer period is held in escrow until the offer is fully subscribed. Should the offer be under-subscribed there will be a meeting between WSE and the company to determine if the company will refund all capital to the investors or if they will remove any outstanding shares so that the company can then be placed on the official list.
