Second House of Sweden
From CyberOne Wiki
I'd read an article on the progressive and in-touch mindset that was prevailing in the Swedish government's approach to their own tourism industry, and the article mentioned a somewhat unusual project just undertaken by the Swedish embassy in Washington, D.C.: a virtual embassy.
After visiting a few user-created locations in Second Life, the Second House of Sweden was a real treat. Take, for instance the gorgeous architecture of the exterior. Once inside, one of the five full-time guides (who happened to be about to leave), informed me that the building was based 100% on the actual Swedish Embassy in Washington. Inaugurated in May, the goal of the building was to both inform visitors about Sweden and Swedish culture by using such tools as virtual art shows, but also more innovative techniques. The most interesting part of the building was found in the rear, and looked like a simple globe. However, upon interacting with it, the user finds himself inside the globe, and is surrounded by lights all over the inside, which signs explain signify various Swedish embassies, consulates, and missions around the world.
