InfoIsland

InfoIsland is a group of libraries including university and state libraries that have banded together to form an island. The island is not owned or operated by Linden Labs but is endorsed by them. I first arrived at the reference desk, where the reference librarian greeted me.

The librarian was quick to point out the maps and other welcome material to help people use the island. The librarians are all volunteer and working towards having 24/7 coverage at the reference desk but aren't quite there yet.

The different libraries have each built their own building or space to provide their libraries. Here are a couple examples of the different buildings.

The libraries provide access tot heir information in a number of different ways. There are videos, links to their real world websites and materials, notecards, placards, and automated objects that speak to you when you are near them.
