Burning Life (Bones) and (Diablo)

Burning Life is an event about art and community and there are many opportunities to interact with installations and visitors and to explore new avenues in SECOND LIFE. Many of the installations are displays of some pretty cool virtual kinetic sculpture, some introduce visitors to REAL LIFE organizations and concepts, especially about nature conservancy. Freebies are a given at the event and visitors walk away with virtual armloads of T-shirts and many more intricate gifts from outfits to "air surfboards."
At the area that I visited my two favorite installations were "Jenene's Digital Garden and Ball Pond" in Bones and "The Land of the Eyes... the Lair of the Dreaming Dragon" in Diablo. In the ball pond, visitors can "sit" on one of the balls and ride around going sideways and upside down (see picture of my feet sticking over the edge of a ball to the right). In the "Land of the Eyes..." visitors are encompased by eyeballs, both in the texture applied to the structure and the floatiing eyeballs that whiz around you. It is a multi-level structure and on the top floor, there are dancing video images in your virtual space, some slightly obscene and others that are comical such as Laurel and Hardy.
