Burning Life: Palace of the Ice Queen
From CyberOne Wiki
The Palace of the Ice Queen was one of several places I visited in Burning Life. I was very late to the party; the man had been burnt hours before, and the whole thing was quite a lonely experience. The Ice Queen's palace was one of the few spaces that weren't entirely deserted, although I didn't speak to the other two people there (who looked like they were conversing privately).
Here's the queen herself. In her domain, a kind of contemporary Nutcracker-like music was playing.
There was a wonderful space for dancing. Snowflakes (no doubt each with some similarity to each other) were softly falling. There was also an ice-skating rink, with free skates. (For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to skate and take a picture at the same time.) Watching my avatar skate was an unexpectedly exhilarating experience - it was like the athletes who train for competition by imagining everything. I *totally* felt I was skating.
The formal garden spoilt the idea of winter a little bit. Maybe it was a hothouse and I missed the point...
But this campfire, which hissed and crackled, was very much in the right mood. I imagined taking a break from the dance floor to have a conversation in which you could really hear your companions.
