Who am I ?

Think of me as a part time volunteer interested in helping some Wikis. This is like a hobby for me.

Why am I here ?

I have offered to help out with the cyberlaw project on Wikipedia.

Observations

Some observations from User:AlMac about material being covered by the classes. I am placing separate topics on separate sub-pages to avoid one humongous page with many different topics on it.

  • Items in the news at User:AlMac/News where Al sees some story that seems very relevant to the kinds of topics recently discussed by the students.
    • User:AlMac/News/Security now exists for news of Security Breaches in 2006 and related developments such as protection against Identity theft. This split made because the NEWS section was getting rather larte.
  • Observations at User:AlMac/02 Day about Cyberlaw/Day 2, such as liability of on-line services for factual errors on their sites, and what I remember about Prodigy.
  • See User:AlMac/Copywrong, particularly the section titled Harvard Violators, for some comments regarding Day 3 Group Assignment.
    • Comments about Copyright issues at User:AlMac/Copywrong start with some consequences of living in a society filled with people who individually think our opinions are more valuable than any professionals.
  • Comments at User:AlMac/e policing about the Group Assignment
    • Quote Write an answer to the letter found when you Google: Metallica, Rudenstine Unquote.
  • User:AlMac/Witness credibility comments relating to some contemporary issues raised in the class studies, such as in rape cases.

Q + A

  • Two questions on Cyberlaw/Day 3, were
    • Quote "What the hell is system caching?" Unquote
    • Quote "Why does Harvard care so much about protecting the identity of its students? Other than being nice?" Unquote
  • Group Assignments for Jan 10 (due Thurs Jan 12) Quote "Where are the next cyber bottlenecks? Should anything be done about them? If so, what and by whom?" Unquote
  • I'll try to answer all of the above at User:AlMac/Geeky or on links from that page, such as User:AlMac/Infrastructure Bottlenecks.

Thanks!
