Media law, privacy, litigation Avila brings to MVALUE nearly a decade of experience in the field of information privacy. From 1992 to 1999, Avila was Litigation Counsel to CBS Corp., where he specialized in news media privacy and defamation issues. Prior to joining MVALUE, Avila also was of counsel to the Los Angeles media law firm of White O'Connor Curry Gatti & Avanzado. Avila is the author of "Food Lion and Beyond: New Developments in the Law of Hidden Cameras" published by the American Bar Association in the Winter, 1999 issue of Communication Lawyer. Avila has spoken to many groups on the subjects of informational privacy and media law. Avila earned his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1984. He received his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude from yale in 1979. Avila began his legal career as a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and later practiced law with the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins. |

Internet Law Group Ms. Conroy counsels emerging as well as mature businesses in a wide variety of Internet law issues relating to Web site development contracts, ownership of intellectual property, terms and conditions of use, legal notices and disclaimers, and privacy policies. Ms. Conroy has also advised clients on the legal risks created by employee e-mail and Internet use, and has developed policies to reduce those risks. Litigation experience includes: Trade secrets theft and Internet trademark infringement litigation; jury trials involving UCC and common-law contract, fraud and misrepresentation claims; complex class-action litigation involving anti-trust and unfair trade practices; software and telecommunications dealer-distributor disputes; defense of hundreds of lawsuits involving products liability and premises claims by asbestos plaintiffs. Intellectual property, litigation, high tech Ms. Donahue has been in practice since 1986. As an attorney with Pacific Gas and Electric Company, she participated in transactions and litigation involving nuclear power plants and other energy-related technology. As Assistant Corporate Counsel at Atari Corporation, she was lead counsel on the Atari v. Nintendo antitrust/intellectual property lawsuit in federal district court, participated in Congressional hearings on anticompetitive practices in the videogame industry, and handled other transactions and litigation. Since 1992, Ms. Donahue has had her own law/consulting practice. Clients have included Hewlett-Packard , Intuit, Fujitsu, Philips Semiconductors, Acer, Watkins-Johnson, Clarify, Galatia, DSPG, WSI, Synopsys, Quantum and the American Electronics Association. Department: Litigation & Dispute Resolution Mr. Finkelstein concentrates his practice in the areas of complex litigation with an emphasis on the Federal securities, intellectual property and amateur and professional sports. He has represented major corporations and accounting and brokerage firms in all aspects of Federal securities litigation, including securities fraud claims, SEC and NASD investigations and enforcement proceedings, and broker/customer disputes. In intellectual property and complex litigation matters, he has represented clients in many industries, including banking, aerospace, pharmaceutical, dairy, computer software and the internet. In the sports area, his clients have included amateur and professional teams and leagues, U.S. Olympic Committee national governing bodies, owners and operators of athletic facilities, and individual athletes. Telecommunications; litigation Most recently filed an amicus brief in United States Telecomm Assoc v. Federal Communications Commission, 2000 WL 1059852 (D.C. Cir), arguing against the constitutionality of certain of the FCC's regulations governing law enforcement intercepts of electronic communications. Mr. Friedman is also the author of numerous articles and essays, which have appeared in such publications as the Villanova Environmental Law Journal, the Boston University Law Review, and the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy.
